Our Cello Teachers
Alyssa Rinaldi
Alyssa’s teaching philosophy centers on nurturing a deep love of music while building strong technical foundations. She creates a supportive lesson environment where students feel challenged yet confident, proud of their progress, and encouraged to step outside their comfort zones. Alyssa incorporates a variety of musical styles and enjoys making music alongside her students through duets and collaboration. She believes in the power of music to bring people together and foster meaningful relationships through shared musical experiences. Her goal is for each student to leave lessons feeling accomplished, motivated, and deeply connected to music as a meaningful and joyful part of their lives.
Alyssa Rinaldi began playing the cello at age nine and developed a deep love for the instrument through early ensemble and cello choir experiences. She is currently pursuing a B.A. in Music with a minor in Education at UC Berkeley, where she studies cello with Jonathan Koh. Alyssa has experience teaching students of various ages and skill levels through private cello lessons, volunteer music programs, and school-based instruction. As a cellist, Alyssa has participated in orchestral and chamber ensembles including the Wallingford Symphony Orchestra, UC Berkeley Symphony and Philharmonia, University Baroque Ensemble, Vienna Summer Music Festival, and Celli@Berkeley. She is passionate about sharing her love of music and guiding students toward both musical growth and personal confidence.
