Music for Little Mozarts
We believe that children learn best in small groups so that they can master the skills needed to play with other musicians. We continually work with each student to find the class setting that will help achieve the student's full musical and artistic potential.
The ensemble setting provides a rare opportunity for developing pianists to play with other musicians. We teach students to read music, to develop technique, to understand music theory, and to learn music history.
Recent studies suggest that playing and listening to music at a young age improves learning, memory, reasoning ability, and general creativity. Research also supports the theory that young children who are exposed to music develop enhanced cognitive skills. The Music for Little Mozart Program is designed to provide a balance between the discipline necessary for playing the piano and the enjoyment one gets from the process of music making.
Designed to encourage a love for music, the Music for Little Mozarts (MLM) curriculum is a fun, imaginative series that helps young children (ages five and six) follow and develop singing and listening skills and introduces the students to new musical concepts and musical performance pieces.
Each MLM lessons centers around the adventures of Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse as they learn about music. Students learn new musical concepts and perform pieces at the piano through activities that include singing, movement, response to rhythm patterms. These musical activities are reinforced through workbook activities that are carefully designed to reinforce musical concepts.
Twice a year, Inspire Academy's students have the opportunity to perform the music they have studied and mastered.
